INDIGENOUS AND INDIGENOUS RECLAIMING B(B)IPOC FOLKS ARE INVITED TO JOIN OUR ONLINE 13 LUNAR MONTH HERBAL FELLOWSHIP

THE CREATION STORY
Jumbo & Imhotep divine herbal seekers welcome to the Indigi Golden Herbal Folk Academy platform. We are officially a 501c(3) non profit organization operating in solidarity with Indigenous peoples.
As a proud daughter of the Earth Mother, land steward, environmentalist, and advocate for Indigenous peoples rights, it is clear that something special is being midwifed that is in need of stewardship by the entire community. As you know it takes a village to raise a sacred seed.
This Herbal Academy is the fertile ground for community members to plant their seeds of kinship towards the reconstruction of our traditional and innate medicine ways. This ancestral calling became overwhelmingly clear and now while walking as an Olokun Initiate, Certified Herbalist, Permaculture designer, Homesteader, Farm worker, and Birth attendant with a Bachelors of Science degree in Alternative medicine from Everglades University the time to share within the abundant garden and plant medicinal "seeds" together in community, has manifested in the present.
For over a decade I have lived very close to the Earth, there sprouted a deepened relationship, desire, and ability to speak in the language of nature, and an unearthing of plant healers proven to be an inspiration worth sharing with devout children of the Earth.
Through initiations and teachings this yearning to deeply commune with these spirits, as taught by the Elders and in community, has grown. It became clear that this wisdom must be shared and continuously stewarded by community, as the healing garden is flourishing with sacred plant allies and in need of seed keepers and medicine holders. Might you be one of those land stewards willing to care take the metaphysical seeds of communal wellness?
If so, you are invited to embark on an intimate 13 lunar month herbal apprenticeship, in an intimate community that nurtures the expansion of our ancestral medicine ways.
MORE ABOUT THE LEAD HERBALIST
Returning to my grandparents humble home for summers really opened the gate to the inner treasure of one-ness with nature. That family home in a small mid-western town was a quiet, learned, authentic, loving container which aided my spirit to court quiet simplicity. My Grandfather was a pastor for over 50 years in a small and quiet town with a strong message of love and communal care. He marched in civil rights protests, visited West Africa, and they grew a beautiful garden with 10 children. Originally my grandparents never went to the doctors, and my parents didn't either. This was common for Black Folks growing up in Southern or rural areas. Black Castor oil and vicks vapor rub was a cure all and so was fish oil and lipton tea for my recent familial lines . My parents had a small garden for us growing up and I spent a lot of time there observing and reflecting in nature. So much so that I wrote a short story about the life and lore of Ladybugs in the 2nd grade. The story was so well detailed swirling with colors and the inner world of the ladybugs my teacher called my mother and couldn't believe I had written the story.
As a young Girl Scout I spent my childhood fully immersed in nature, riding horses, rescuing kittens, and binge watching the animal planet. Growing up my mother maintained a relationship with alternative healing practices. She employed holistic practices such as; detoxing, cleansing, proper nutrition, acupuncture, massage, and folky remedies, even though health literacy was beginning to decline amongst her peers.
This nurturing environment created the foundation for me to continue to grow and lean deeper into the natural biorhythms of the earth. For two years, several years ago, I helped manage an herbal Apothecary on unceded Chumash lands, and since have been spending countless hours getting to know many plant medicines in a clinical light while simultaneously studying traditional folk lore, naturopathy, alternative medicine, and Indigenous medicine ways. We now "own", really steward a 7 acre farmstead on Nisenan tribal lands, with medicinal herb gardens in solidarity!
Several years ago I was told by a Himalayan monk, a teacher of mine, and an Apache First Nations Herbalist, Mother, Spirit Runner, and Medicine Woman, an affiliate to this community to bring forth the wisdom of nature to a larger community by way of my studies. Thus the creation of our online herbal platform in the winter of 2018.
